Our Domestic Care Service provides assistance with essential house cleaning services and daily living tasks required to maintain a comfortable and healthy home environment. Our support workers can provide assistance with a range of household and personal assistance tasks where illness, frailty or a disability prevents a person from undertaking tasks on their own behalf. Assistance can be provided on a short-term or long-term basis and is aimed at all times at maintaining independence by complementing what they are able to do for themselves.
The service is available to:
- older and frail people with moderate, severe or profound disabilities;
- younger people with moderate, severe or profound disabilities; and
- carers of the above.
Fees are charged for the Domestic Care Service according to income and are determined at the time of assessment. Monthly accounts are mailed out and can be paid at our Service Centre, corner Glen Eira and Hawthorn Roads, Caulfield or at any post office.
Domestic care staff
Trained and experienced staff provide a professional, personal and caring service which is sensitive to individual needs. All staff meet clearly-stated selection criteria and undergo Police and reference checks.
Staff not only assist with the tasks required but also monitor the health and wellbeing of the service recipient and report any concerns back to Council for follow up.
