Support services for the aged and people with disabilities

We provide a range of services to support frail older people and people with disabilities — and their carers — to live independently in the community.

At all times, services aim to complement what people can do for themselves, promote active involvement and choice, encouraging independence and self-sufficiency. The range of services available includes home care, personal care, respite care, delivered meals, property maintenance, social support, community transport and senior citizens centres. Services can be provided on both a short-term and long-term basis as assessed.

Approximately 4,000 Glen Eira residents access community care services each year.

Funding is provided by the Australian Government’s Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Victorian Government’s Home and Community Care (HACC) program to assist Council in providing these services.

To access support for people 65 aged and older contact My Aged Care. My Aged Care provides a clear entry point to the aged care system and is a key point of interaction with consumers including clients; carers; service providers; and health professionals.
