Author and historian Stella Barber has written three fascinating books on the history of the Myer family and the famous store Sidney Myer: a life, a legacy (2005); Myer: celebrating 100 years of fashion (2008); and Your store Myer: the story of Australias leading department store (2009).
Stella will discuss the history of the store and its founding family which have been at the heart of Australian retailing. Myer has played a pivotal role in the lives of all Australians from the introduction of international merchandising methods; importation of overseas fashions; bringing fashion to the suburbs through its expansion; and creation of an ever-changing, memorable, retailing experience.
Following the presentation, Stella will have her books available for cash sales and signing.
